Clive is married to Cathy, a Speech & Language Therapist, and they have four grown up children who are also part of the church. He particularly likes explaining the Christian worldview to those who are seeking answers or are sceptical. He read theology at St Peter's College, Oxford University, then went into NHS management before training for ordination at Trinity College, Bristol. After a few years of speaking at Spring Harvest, he was one of those with the idea to start Word Alive. Clive is an Honorary Canon at Winchester Cathedral, has served on the Bishop's Council and as an Area Dean, and has been a member of General Synod. He has recently had to retire from playing football after breaking his leg!
Rob has recently moved from London where he was studying and working at a city-centre church. Before church work, he did four years in a “proper” job as a financial regulator in the City/Canary Wharf. Becoming a Christian in his early twenties, from a position of scepticism, Rob enjoys considering how Christianity relates to those who doubt its claims. He is married to Claire and they have two “lively” toddlers. He cannot shake off his love for electronic music and enjoys attempting to play football.
Caroline is a Curate who specialises in Women and Children's work. Originally a nurse specialising in Oncology, she took a year out to work in a church in London nearly 25 years ago and loved it so much she stayed! She trained for ordination at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. She helps teach the 'Women's Ministry' stream on the Cornhill Training Course in London and has a passion to see women and children faithfully taught to understand the Bible.
Janet is married to Keith. They have two grown up daughters who are both married and have given them grandchildren. Janet worked in the hospitality industry before she had her family. This is where she learnt the skills to organise events which provide good food and a warm welcome. The 'Good News' presented in the Bible is of a God who invites us into His family, so it is both the Gospel and her professional background which motivate and equip her to welcome visitors and enquirers at St Mary's. Janet works part time and term time only.
Having spent three years as a Ministry Trainee, Tim now works one day a week on everything techie at St Mary's. The rest of the week he works for a small local telecommunications company. In his spare time Tim enjoys climbing up, and camping on, mountains regardless of the weather, and is also a keen photographer. He is continuing to help lead our 14–18s youth work. Tim is always willing to try and fix a broken gadget, but can’t guarantee it will come back in one piece!
