Steve & Sarah Sweet - Ordination Training Oak Hill College, London
Steve is in his final year of training full time for ordination. Sarah is also in the final year of her master’s degree at UCL in developmental psychology and clinical practice. For the last couple of years they have enjoyed serving and worshipping at Holy Trinity Frogmore. Leading youth work and occasionally preaching and leading, the church has provided Steve with the opportunity to remain grounded whilst at theological college. Whilst overseas travel has been limited this year, Steve was able to lead a team from the college to Uganda as part of an ongoing partnership between Oak Hill and the Uganda Martyrs’ Seminary, a theological training college based just outside of Kampala. Both Steve and Sarah have continued to be involved in the leading of that Partnership and hope to be able to visit Uganda again. Whilst the various lockdowns over this past year have been a challenge, Steve and Sarah are grateful to God for the opportunity to continue with their studies remotely.
Following their time in London, they will be heading to the East Midlands for Steve to undertake his curacy in Leicester. The plan is for Steve to serve as a curate for a year, before then leading a team to establish a new church plant in the neighbouring parish. Sarah’s plans are still coming together, but she hopes to put her Masters to use and work in the field of mental health. They thank God for these new and developing opportunities, and are grateful for your continued prayer and support.
